The original Point Hueneme Lighthouse opened the same day as Point Fermin to the south, using the same stick style architecture. When Port Hueneme was constructed in 1940,
the original structure became the first lighthouse ever to be moved from its original home.
The current one-of-a-kind lighthouse was built in an Art Moderne style still using a Fresnel lens crafted in 1897.
The United States Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Los Angeles and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary
open the doors to the Point Hueneme Lighthouse on the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The lighthouse is a wonderful example of an intact California lighthouse.
