Relocated from its original home just southwest of Ferndale,
to Shelter Cove in 1998. The light tower at Cape Mendocino
had begun to deteriorate and inch its way down the hill.
Thanks to the Cape Mendocino Lighthouse Preservation Society,
the tower was restored, painted, and had new glass installed.
