The Southampton Shoals Lighthouse was replaced with a beacon in 1960, when the beautiful house on the bay was sold to the St. Francis Yacht Club. The lighthouse was moved to Tinsley Island, the only island in America owned by a yacht club, where it was funished and made available to club members to spend the night. There is no way to visit the Southampton Shoals Lighthouse, it is a privately owned structure located on a privately owned island.
