The lighthouse at Trinidad Head is still maintained by the USCG and is off limits to the public. The tower can be seen from a hiking trail a couple of hundred yards above the light station. In 1948, Earl Hallmark donated a parcel of land in town to build an exact replica of the lighthouse as a memorial to those community members lost at sea, which stands at the end of Trinity street at Edwards street. The memorial lighthouse is home to the original forth order Fresnel lens and the original fog signal bell.
The area is beautifully landscaped, the view is spectacular,
and access is one of the easiest of all of California lighthouses.
